Hi folks,
I checked out the stickies, got pointed to cellguy85 on Ebay (Keith Valentine). Super awesome guy
I'm fairly close to him so we met up and he installed the hands free kit today in my car (and I love it so far)! He made a comment that I hope isn't true (or at least I'm hoping there's a work around), but wanted to check with those of you that have this system installed
He said that even when the car is off, the phone will stay paired until it "breaks", like you go 30 feet away or more OR you manually disconnect it. I tested this out and it's in fact an issue (it stays paired after the car is off). So for example...
1) I use phone in car over Bluetooth
2) Park car and turn off, go inside house to home office (which is near garage)
3) When I get a call and answer it, it connects to Bluetooth and the voice does not work when you speak into the phone
(presumably because it's expecting you to be speaking in the car)
4) I can push a button on my smart phone to disconnect Bluetooth (for this session) and it'll go back to regular. However, the next call will go to Bluetooth again
Any advice? The are only two work arounds I can think of, but they both suck:
1) Unplug the Bluetooth puck when leaving the car; plug it back in when needing to use it again. When it turns on, it'll pair automatically with the last phone that it was paired with, so I don't need to manually connect.
2) Go into my phone's settings and manually disconnect the Bluetooth pair. When I need to use hands free again, I'll have to manually go into settings and re-connect.
If the connection is broken, it seems the module will go to sleep (meaning that after you disconnect, when the car is off, you can't reconnect). So I wonder if there's a way to make it do that same sleep when the car gets turned off (breaking the connection). Any advice is appreciated
