Parked my wifes 01 E320 for the weekend. Noticed when I started it that a major cloud of blue smoke came from the tailpipe. It persisted for about 10 seconds. this is the first time I've seen it. Car has 59K miles. Any ideas on what this might be? The car consumes no oil between changes and I use Mobil 1 synthetic.

Same blue smoke, 1999 E 430 sport 23k miles, oil changed castorl 5W50 Syn. every 3k miles, wifes car totaly pampered. The smoke has happened 3 times over the last 6 months. At first I thought valve stem seals, but that would smoke on every start. Now I think it must be a crankcase vent problem, letting oil in to the induction system. I did open the oil cap (engine running) and no pressure / blow by. Never seen any thing like it, I can't make it happen, but when it smokes it smokes. Any advice would help.
