I just went to the reopening event at my local dealer and it seems that all of the 2012 models have a "Blue Efficiency" badge behind the front wheel wells. What exactly is "Blue Efficiency" and does anyone else find these tacky? I am glad that my 2010 does not have these.

From what I understand, the 2012 has 10-12% better fuel efficiency than previous years, the S350 is around 31 mpg. So they are adding their tree hugger badges. They are also talking of an S250 (I think it is) that will be a 4 cylinder, diesel engine, that will be interesting.

I would prefer it not be there, kind of kills the lines. Put it on the back with the other badges, like BlueTec if they want to keep it on the car. Personally, I think it looks a lot better than the mileage badges people plaster all over the front grilles.

Here in euroland , the 250 already exists. ± 41mpg, max torque ±368, max speed ±149.

WOW! 41!!! With that kind of torque it could pull any climb. Can't believe what they can get out of smaller engines now. Good to hear it's already out.

BTW Max, love your signature :D

EDIT: Added link and pic of S250. Interesting that it shuts down the engine when at a full stop, unless needed for environmental or other powered conditions inside the car. That would seem to be a lot of wear on a diesel engine?

Anyone with urea additive experience? Wondering what type of hassles that is to get these BlueTec/Efficiencies cleaner?

About the wear i don't know , but the reason for this system is because of the higher european standards. And , but I don't know how it is in other country's, but here in the netherlands, you need to pay for the car+taxes+25% of the car+taxes. And if you get a cleaner car you only have to pay , 20% or 14 % extra instead of 25%. This system exist because the government want to stimulate to drive a cleaner car.
