I disagree. The M102 "short" block for both engines, the 8 valve and the 16 valve, are identical. However, that said, much of the rest of the engine is different. The crank, bearings, pistons, oil pump, front end, etc. are different.

Thanks i thought they looked alot similar from the outside. Once adain MTI rules!
