What are these blank spaces used for? Which buttons?

On the window control pic I know the center between the mirrors is the power folding mirror button, which my ML has. The other's I am stumped on. Anyone know or are they just always this way?

The Owner's Manual has pictures of the control areas with all the optional buttons shown.

The blanks on the window switches are for operable rear quarter windows, if they ever get around to adding this option.

Yes, that's what it's for and they're on my GL and AFAIK they're standard on that model.

This is common parts between models more than anything.

The ML will definitely not be getting rear quarter windows like the W163. I did have them on my old ML though, and they were useful for parking in hot temps, or to let the air out when the moonroof was open.

As far as the buttons on the centre console, from left to right you're missing the buttons for the Airmatic system. 1) Sport/Dynamic/Comfort button, 2) Ride Height Button, 3) Parktronic off button. I'll take a picture of mine if you're really that curious!
