Blade key stuck in door

2196 Views 8 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Jim-ML320W164
Hello All,

I used my blade key in the driver side door after the battery went dead. I successfully opened the door by turning the key counter clockwise to the right.
I wanted to see if I could lock it with the blade key while I put a charger on. I turned the key to clockwise to the left. It didn't lock and now I can't get the key out!
Any ideas?

Not sure if it will help, but graphite powder works a treat on household locks - might be worth a try. It's sold in small squeeze bottles with a long nozzle, so you might be able to blow some in if there's enough of a gap beside your stuck key. It's a much better lube for any lock than oil as it doesn't get thick in cold temperatures. Best wishes!
