Seems I have been a little to silly with my Benz..and the flying lessons on country roads at high speed.. my indy did a service on it on friday.. and informs me i need a new sump pan..because I have cracked mine just behind the sump drain plug...due to a takeoff and a heavy landing over a hump back bridge...Anyone know where i will get one from ?? Except my local stealer.. who needs his carribian vacation next month....Is it the same as the 320?

Have you thought of trying a special purpose epoxy to repair the crack? There are some very good ones out there that would work. 3M's Scotch Weld comes to mind...

Just checked my S-Class book and compared the cross section of all 5 engines and unfortunately its one of a kind for the V12[:(]Looks like its time to bite the bullet at the main stealers[xx(]Would be nice to know the price[:0]If you ever damage your front grille I have a brand new one in the original packaging(£360) - but will do a deal for you - just something to bear in mind as im in no hurry to get rid of it[;)]

I belive the pan is a aluminium (aluminum) alloy.
It could be weldet by a professional welder. The cost should be relatively low compared to a new pan. Yes you have to remove it (anyway) and cound not drive your benz[:(] until the pan is done.
