Dear All:

I've just bought a pair of Bilstein front shocks for my '86 560SL and am getting ready to install them. However, when I opened the box, I was somewhat surprised to find that they were supplied with a only single lock nut for the upper stem mount, and not the double nut design that is fitted to the cars current shocks. Is this a change in design for Bilstein, or am I missing a nut?

Whilst on this subject, does anyone use thread locking compound on the upper or lower nuts that secure the shock?

Thanks for any advice,
Ryan

I believe that on the SL (R107) there is only one on the top & one on the bottom. They should have been included in the Bilstein box.

I use "loc-tite" on the lower bolts, but then again my set is a bit different than yours. [)]
