Loads of people on the forum talk about their 500's or 630's. Don't these babies drink juice at alarming rates. Here in England we are paying £6.30 per gallon. I presume it's still cheap as chips in the U.S. Not jealous or anything!

I pay around $4/gallon which is almost half of what you pay. I'd imagine americans drive a lot more per year then europeans do which would balance those costs out.

Growing up in communistic Poland - filling up 5 gallons tank in Fiat 126 cost me daily wages. The daily wages worth of gas gave me about 200 miles on that fill up. Than I moved to California and tank on 3-ton wagon cost me 1hr of wages to fill up.
First years of exploring California we frequently drove 1000 miles in single weekend.
Now the 550 miles trip to Las Vegas cost us about daily wages in fuel, but that thanks to driving economical diesel.
So what you consider cheap and what you consider expensive?

Here in L.A gas is around $4.39/ gallon for premium... And with my car averaging 10-12 MPG that costs A LOT. Luckily, I don't drive every day and when I do it's only for a couple miles each way.

Here in Phoenix, Az gas is a bit over $4 for premium and I get about 16mpg in my S550. I don't drive much but when I take a day trip I do pay for it.
