I have the orginal projet head light unit on my stock 05 SLK 350. I am looking at the replacement. I found this on ebay.

eBay Motors: 2 Orig. BI-XENON headlights Mercedes SLK R171 NEW AMG (item 200064122409 end time Apr-30-07 07:00:38 PDT)

It's almost 1300 USD. I think it's kind of expensive.
Does anybody have done this before? I know that the stock light package has the auto-level function and washer which I believe it doesn't have it.
Or, does anybody know any whereelse I can get the kit with better price?
I still prefers the OEM unit because overall it's a MB.

Thanks,

Thanks,
 These lights are the real deal. They're advertised as being brand new, factory SLK Bi-Xenons. Not a bad price for the lights, I'm sure shipping would add another $100 minimum. Dealer would charge over $2000 plus sales tax for the same thing. Should be a fairly simple remove and replacement. I understand you would have to drop the front bumper cover. You shouldn't encounter any problems. You won't have the benefit of the headlight washer (makes too much of a mess, don't use) or the auto leveling. Neither is a big deal. You would need to have the lighting system coded xenon=on through dealer. I considered getting these for my wife's SLK 350. I ordered a used set for $1250 from another seller, but returned them due to being non matching and condition. After, that I got some neat 5000k H7 bulbs that look great and I lost interest. Personally I wouldn't consider a kit with these light available. I love xenons and would highly recommend you making the switch.

That's very true. 1400 USD is not cheap at all for the kit.
How do you like the 5000K light bulbs alone?
Do you have pic can share?

Thanks,

 I agree, $1400 is a lot of money, but consider what you're getting. These are factory and brand new. One reason I didn't pursue the xenon lights, I felt confident that we would trade the SLK 350 within nine months for a new SLK. I've tried several aftermarket halogen lights, Sylvania SilverStars, Philips Cool Blue, etc. A shop that did the tint on our VW Beetle, had some aftermarket Fuzion 5000k H7 halogen lights for sale, They were $50 for the set, and I thought I'd give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised with the look. They are rated at 5000k, and have a slight light blue tint. I also replaced he high beams with the leftover SilverStars and replaced the yellow looking front parking lights with PIAA extreme white bulbs. I've got the xenon look at a fraction of the cost. They really look good. I also installed them, the high beams, and LED white parking lights on our VW NewBeetle and my Mazda6. I have a weakness for light and wheels. If you're interested in the halogen bulbs, do a eBay search for 5000k H7 bulbs. They're a lot cheaper than what I paid locally, around $20 with shipping for two. Sorry, I don't have any pics, but I'm highly critical and if they weren't nice, I wouldn't recommend them. PS - get the factory xenons.
