Hi
Hope someone can help me with this. Have a 2005 W211 with bi-Xenon and active cornering lights. Swing function on both sides have very clearly stopped working. Have got this error message, "hdl cornering function not available" Have received a check and a printout of the error codes from workshop. Looks to be an electrical motor inside the housing on the right side. No spare part at mercedes but a new one could be bought for 1600 euros!!

Anybody know if it is possible to make a fix, open the light and order the right electrical motor part.?

I remember MBenzNL (Steve) mentioning somewhere that the motor is available as a spare part for some other MB model but I have no notes about that part number.

Anyway the light unit is glued and difficult to open. Some say they've put it into a kitchen oven for 10 minutes and the glue gives up nicely, also works backwards (you have to be careful though, your wife might interrupt you in the middle of the process  ).

There is also a batch of light units that fail because of the internal wiring getting exposed, in this case the motor could be fine.
