[Seat damage]

My passenger seat is costing A$2k to repair because 'allegedly' a plastic 600ml empty bottle has bent the aluminum guard, knocking the seat off its track. And I thought Mercs were tougher than this!

Wow sorry to hear of this freak failure. Can you please describe the events that led to this seat issue?
Did the bottle get wedged in between the seat and side rail or center consul? Please elaborate.

I have seen those bottle do all kinds of damage under seats. it doesn't take much to damage the seat frame when it hung under there and you move the seat.
