I have a chance to buy a 1999 C230 Kompressor for $7,500. Its a one owner with 84k miles. Is 1999 a good year? What is the best year for the C230 in the 1990's? What can you expect for gas mileage for the regular C230 and the Kompressor model? What are the major problems that typically occur with the C230 model? Do they have a lot of problems with the Kompressor super charger? Does the supercharger affect gas mileage very much? Lastly, where would you recommend getting as much "real" information from consumers about the 1990's C230 model??

Thanks,
Peter

99's had been out long enough to work through most C Class problems but the 2000 has even a few more refinements (e.g. transmission bearings) plus ESP was offered on the 2000 C230K along with the touch shift transmission (fun to play with but it is still the same basic slush box, so don't expect big performance gains).

1999 C230K

Sounds like you own the 1999 C230K. If you do, could you take a look at the questions that I asked in the post and answer some of them, that would be great. I have a chance to buy a nice 1999 and needs feedback on the 1999.
