Hi Friends,

I am recently in the market for a new vehicle, having had my 07 C280 written off.

I know this is a highly subjective question. If possible, I would really appreciate some insight on which year C300 has a good reputation as far a (1) reliability and (2) performance?

I have heard from many that the 2009 model is the way to go. Any help would be very appreciated as I am by no means a car guy though, I do love driving a MB.

Thank you kindly,

Shawn

I have a facelift W204. (2014 C300 Sport 4matic)

So far 80k miles and the only things I have done are front brake rotors and pads (normal), tires (normal), and I am about to replace a slightly noisy blower).

I did this research when I was looking for a new car and bought my Benz as a certified Pre owned thru a dealer about 2 years ago. The facelift models include all the fixes to this body/engine style since they came on the market.

My Benz runs great - would buy it again.
I plan on running it till 200k.

I also settled on a CPO 2014 C300 Sport 4Matic after research; in fact I bought it almost exactly four years ago (5/30/15). Knock wood it has been nothing but a delight. All I've had to do is regular maintenance, brakes and tires (it came with Continentals that were soft and godawful; I replaced all four with Michelin Pilot Sports and then had to replace one of those after a road debris blowout). Have had a recall for the steering wheel clock spring and am currently waiting for parts to come in for the passenger air bag, which is included in the most recent Takata recalls. But that's all. It had 15,873 on the odometer the day I bought it and as of today I'm at 71,200-something. Very, very happy with this car.
