I'm looking to replace the headlight cover/doors for my daughters 81 240D. The front clip I purchased from the yard came with very poor condition used ones and I am going to replace with new. I found them at Arizona Autohaus for just under 60 each, is this as good as it gets?

Well, considering list price brand new from the dealer is $95, and that Autohausaz has the best prices I've seen (in addition to being a sponsor of BW), I would say that's an EXCELLENT deal. But, why not rebuild her car to make it better, how about some Euros? They're more expensive, but they look nice and light up the road better than sealed beam units.

I was thinking about that as well, got a link? How much more would they cost?

I wound up buying a headlight cover from ebay to repace one of mine that was scratched up. Turns out that the one from ebay was just as crappy! Bought some new ones from Performance Products - (if you can get them for that cheap, go for it!) They looked so good, that I wound up taking Karugs' advice and installed new headlights also (Cibie). The "new" look is all worthwhile!!

BTW, I prefer the traditional look of the round lights on a 240 versus the Euro square ones. I put on euros on my other cars but never considered them for the 240. Just my .02.

I bought euros from Katmac, their customer service is great.

He advertised "everything you need" and there was not, still something missing and he took the time to make it complete, the kit now indeed has everything.
