When using Mobil oil in the Benzs, I only use 0-40 European formula (available at Walmart).
I believe that's what's recommended for that car. that grade has served me well for many Benzs over many years actually.

I went with mobil 1 European 0w-40 - should I expect to get 7 ,500 miles per oil change with this formula ??

You will be able to go up to 13,000 miles safely.
Use the Mann or MB fleece filters and the car will tell you when to change the oil.

I use the fleece filters and Mobil-1 0W-40 FS European Formula, too. Given its affordability and availability, there's really no reason not to. My oil change regimen with our M113 engines is every 5,000 miles. The longest I will go is 7,500 miles. Yes, that's before the car will tell you to do an oil change.

I used Mobil 1 - 0w040 euro formula for years but recently switched to Pennzoil Platinum 5w40 euro which is MB229.5 approved too! It's base is derived from natural gas. I've had no issues.

Always use a Mann filter.

As I think has already been mentioned - after a little research and consulting the manual, it seems Mobil 1 0w-40 is the best option.

0-40 or 5-40 of course… if you want to go by the book. If you want high performance motor oil…

Mobil1 5W-50 or… Mobil1 0W-50, racing oil.

I've been using 5W-50 for few years. Not available at local outlets, at least I can't find it, which actually makes shopping for it much more convenient AFAIC.

I have heard of Hardex, but it appears its availability is limited to Asian areas and Pacific islands near Asia.
