I have a 85 sec euro and I have just found a complete real AMG body kit (SOOO LUCKY!!!) On top of that I found a complete set of chrome 3pcs. staggered O.Z. racing AMG wheels and tires on Atlanta Craigslist. The car is originally 929 Mercedes blue but I am really debating on the AMG white that is so common on AMG 126 cars. Would I take the value of the car away by changing the color. Thanks!!

Welcome to the forum! Fill out your profile before you get attacked by the mods. I'd keep the original blue color - very expensive to change color and do it correctly - plus 929 is not a common color, it makes your car that much more unique. Are you in the ATL area?

Hi, I live in the Riverdale area and I did'nt realize that 929 was not the basic blue for the benz. I will take that in consideration now that I know. Thanks!

I'm not that informed on colour codes, but if that is the dark blue I'd say keep it, I love that colour on these cars. Can't say I'm a fan of chrome wheels though.

This then begs the question of which colour is the most common, and which colours are more "rare", relatively speaking.

I like 929 personally. If I remember correctly, it is nautical blue (right???). I would keep it. Remember changing the color involves painting door jams, the underside of the hood, the engine compartment etc. It is going to cost more.

Well, here is a rare color for the W126. I believe it is China Blue. ;)

Looks like something the Chinese version of a Mary Kay rep would drive.

Bleu de Chine is rare. Even in EU.

I like this one.
932 Lapis Blue, This one is a bit lighter than brand new 932 Lapis Blue Paint though. 25 years old(18 when repainted), so I'm sure the original paint had faded to this match.

My w126 is in dark blue right now (don't know the code for it), but it needs a paint job soon and I'm going for Pearl Gray Metallic (DB122).

I have seen a doody green (brown, rust, green color combined) advertised in Miami...it had somthing like 56K on it and driven only 2 months a year since it was a vacation home. Man it looked excellent but that color...not for me. It was original.

Is there any available data on how many of each color w126's there are? My 300SEL is 929 and so is the guy around the corner from my house.
