for those of you who read the vintage forum, after 8 years i finally found a rear bumper for my 280c. the bumper is in very good condition, however its been sitting outside for years. the chrome is very dirty, but not cracked or pitted. im sure it can look new again. my question is how can i do this. whats the best way to clean chrome
jimmy
well get out the rubber gloves! mix up some CLR calcium lime rust , cleaner & a medium bristle ( but lots of bristles ) soak & scrub lots & vigisoraly. rinse well, then there is a cleaner called never dul. it comes in a can with wading , it will take lots of elbo grease but this should do it.
well, considering chrome is a coating, you're going to want to avoid harsh abrasives, particularly dry, or even rough scrubbing sponges and brushes.
Anyways...
-menzerna polishing cream metal polish
-p21s polishing soap
-p21s multi surface restorer
