Hey guys! My belt tensioner and belt tension adjustment need to be changed on my 1991 500sl. Pls if anyone has step by step instruction on how to replace both the tensioner and tension adj. I be very grateful…..Thanks, mbguy1944.

I'm not sure what you are talking about. The belt tensioner is an assembly. There is no adjustment. It either works or it doesn't. If your belt is relatively new, but is slipping, you need a NEW tensioner. Sometimes you can get way with just replacing the idler wheel on the tensioner, but I recommend biting the bullet and replacing the entire unit.

I'm replacing both the belt tensioner unit(the complete unit not just the wheel) and belt tension adjustment(the device that loosen the belt. I need step by step instruction on how to replace both.

You might try going to your library to see if they have Alldata on their computers. Here on Long Island, NY, you can access it for free.
Another thought, is to buy the CD.
