I'm with you DarkOne. CLK' are a dime a dozen, no matter what parts are slappped on. They have horrible blind spots to match.

Regards,

Sounds like a bad ass CLK

I think you should have traded. You basically have a stock SEC with aftermarket bodykit. I think you should have traded, then sell the CLK, buy another SEC and fix up just like yours and would probably put some mony in your pocket at the end. If your car was AMG or something rare, that would be different. That is just my opinion.

That being said you do start to love the car you have, I keep thinking about when I get older and insurance is not such a big PITA if I will get a newer more powerful W140 or try to transplant a new engine in mine. That and ge me a nice 126 coupe....one day.

I understand loving your car, but....I dunno. I try not to fall in love with object. I mean i love my car, and it does have rare options and mods, but if someday somebody offers me something that is worth 3 times of what I have...it is done.

If money can buy it, I don't fall in love with it.

I personally would have traded the 500SEC for the Lorinser DTM-kitted CLK. It would have been a much better deal for you, not only is the car worth more I think, but its also sounds like it was nicely tuned.

DarkOne, if I was you, I would ask him if he is still willing to make the trade, coz ChopTop really does make a good point in his original post. Think about it! ;-)

I'd be buying something that I'm not sure what's wrong with it. At least with mine, I know, it's restored and perfect. If he is really willing to trade, there must be a catch. So, not risking it. You don't do that much work to a CLK and get stupid. I just don't wanna be stuck with someone else's problem car. Also, wise words.

There's something to be said for keeping what you like... just because money can buy it, doesn't mean you would be happier having money instead of the car. What would you do with the money, go and buy a duplicate of the SEC?

pretty much. but then I'd have to do that work all over again. Not to mention there would be 2 cars like mine afterwards. My car wouldn't be as unique as it is. and lastly, If i ever have to do rear springs again on another SEC, it will be too soon. However, if someone were to...say.... offer me a CL600 in mint condition, that would be enough for me to trade. that is, if it wasn't silver. Black is very do-able.

Doesn't that just mean you love money more?
