Got the car back yesterday from the shop - slowly getting through my "to do" list ;-)

Base car: 1995 Brilliant Silver S320, 70k, Black Leather Interior.

Work done so far: lowering, 19" rims, crystal LED tails and side markers, S600 grille, rebadged (when I bought it).

Any comments much appreciated! ;-)

Love the LED tail lights...I want a set but I have a 94 and as we all know 1995-99 trunk lid is rounded and not squared like the 1992-94.what did you use for the lowering set up?

I like the wheels those are smooth. Also I'd love to know how you made up the LED tail lights.

the LED tailights are the newest "mod" on ebay for the w140 I think there about $240. they look great on the w140 too! I wish they was a way of putting them on my 94 since the trunk is more squared.

Thanks for the replies - yeah as benzkid27 said - they are a standard "buy and install" type affair for the 95 onwards.

I don't have any details on the lowering at the moment as I basically went back to the guys I bought it from (W140 specialists) and said "I want it sitting about the height of that one over there" and 4 hours and $400 later it was done ;-) I'll get some details when I take her back in for the paintwork.

Here's a couple of better shots from a digital camera (as opposed to my phone) of the tails again and the new dash set-up.

so why does it say S500 if it's a S320?
Re-badging is quite common over here - just a status thing I guess. It used to be specialized to dealers etc but now you can buy the badg-ing kits from just about anywhere.

i love it. absolutely beautiful. Also good choice w/ the 5% tints in the otherwise the car is a giant fishbowl w/ all that transparent glass.

i love the look of the car, the drop and the rims look awesome.

if you ask me tho, the flag pole must go, it does not flow smoothly with the sporty look of the rims/gauges/springs...

again, the car looks awesome, i am galous! :)

Haku... As requested, heres the pictures of my 1995 Silver S-320 w/ 5% tints in the back and 20% tint all around.

And this is the Beautiful Green 1995 S500 i'll soon be the owner of in a few months once my sister takes my silver S320.

And since i already took pictures heres my moms 1999 Obsidian Black S500

i'm sure its obvious but my family is very much into the W140, i don't know about you all but i think that one tone green paint job is amazing. so different from typical black and sivler.

Wow all good looking W140's I've seen a nice monotone dark green S420 before and I thought it looked great too. I think it's good that the W140 looks great in a range of colours not just silver, black and white like the newer MB's seem to be all painted.

Good call on the pole ;-)

However the back streets of Tokyo can be somewhat of a challenge without it! I've got the car going in to be painted obsidian black next month so I might get them to do the pole up to just below the marker to obscure it a little I think.

I didn't have any plans for the old grille so if you're after one I can certainly sell it to you - I have no idea what they are worth however and don't forget there's going to be shipping costs from Japan to the States.

Let me know if you're keen.

maximrick - nice collection of cars there! I'm looking forward to getting the tint done properly - over here you can get the windscreen done a very very light tint as well to save you having to darken your sides and back too much but give the overall appearance fo a quite heavily tinted car without effecting the view from the inside out. I had it done on my last car and it was very effective.

Nice wheels and lights.

I was going to suggest that you pain the lower side skirts silver to match the color of the body. Then it will look even more sharp and stealthy.

The paint looks good, and even though obsidean black is my favorite color, i think the silver you have is very nice.

Bayhas, i have an s500 grill if you want, nice condition...
