hi everyone,
just aquired a 1992 500sel.the radio had to be programed, so after getting the code i tried to program it without any luck.i didn't have the owners manual so i went into it blind.after a few tries i began getting an e2 message and now it's not even allowing to program it.has anyone ever had this problem and could it be fixed, or is the radio done?

Yes, I have the same problem with my 1993 300SL. I disconnected my battery for other purpose and enter the code after the battery was reconnected , the stereo works fine. The next day, I tried turn on the radio I see the message "e2" the radio is not inoperable. I have not found a cure yet. I'll post when I solve the issue.
