Hello,

My MERCEDES 500sl has ( i bought it with this radio system) a "new radio CD" with a new "wiring diagram for the door speaker" and I want to retrun to the old BE1432 system with the amplifier in the trunk. I bought a BE1432 and I am trying to install it. My problem right now it is that i can not find the wieres taht they come form the amplifier of the trunk to the door speaker. I remove the trim under the steering wheel and i can not find the wire that they come from the amplifer of the trunk, anybody has an image or anybody knows it?

Another topic i wnat to check the bass amplifier under the passanger floor, anybody knos how to do it?

And the final question, Is there any way to check if the amplifier ( trunk) is working properly?

BEST REGARDS and THANK YOU.

If you send a PM to our moderator "Ears" he will surely post the schematic you ask for to this thread.

Since there are no amplifiers within the doors I presume the answer to your question is "passive".

Luiher, there is huge number of wiring diagrams depending on model year and options (CDC, phone, Bose…). The one attached may or may not be correct for your car. The door speakers have simple crossovers if that is what you mean by "active". Good luck!

Hello Ok,

thank you. The problem is that i can not find the wires phisically and I do not know where to try to find it.

This photo is under the steering wheel, if you see the red shape ( some white wires)) this is the "new installation wires; these wires go to the front door speaker", but I can not find the original ones. There are a lot of wires under the steering whell and i can not find it what are the wires that they are coming from the trunk amplifier and passanger amplifier.

Best Regards and Thank you.

Well Luis, I cannot really help you more and your audio wiring seems somewhat molested. The door bass speakers should be connected to the bass amp in footwell. The dash tweeters and door midrange are jointly connected to trunk amp via four connector sleeves Z28/5...8 (see the wiring diagram). I vaguely recall some sleeves are in the doorsills under plastic covers but I'm not sure. However, it seems your car's loudspeaker wire colours match the wiring diagram; that should help. In case your car had phone option, dash speakers possibly were used for handsfree.

About the bass amplifier: It is turned on by 12V control on BKRD wire connected to pin 3. A common fault is the relay, see https://www.benzworld.org/threads/fixed-my-becker-1432-radio-bass-amp-today.1532473/

Thank you Pazo.

Another Question; I have seen that you are from Helsinki, Could you recommend me some shops in Europe to buy spare parts for my SL-1992 and also shops to repair electronics devices of the car.

Thank you.
