a quick general question. im sure someones familiar with the BMW 3er Bauer Cabrio, made from 77-85/86ish. is it possible structurally (frame strenght) to do the same to my Coupe, thus making the first (i think) 123er Cabriolet? any input from u genious engineer types would be appreciated.

With money anything is possible, but I'm sure there would be some reinforcement necessary since the body is the frame.

jrehm is right... with the right amount of money.. anything is possible.. one thing though.. you'd have to reinforce the flooring to handle the weight of the car with the roof being gone and all... otherwise you might end up with a banana looking car.. drooping on both ends...

and as with any chopping.. you might encounter some alignment problems with your doors...

as to where that was done.. i dont really know.. just saw that on the internet...:D

There was a 280CE Cabrio on eBay a few weeks ago. Did $6,000 or $7,000. Really nice.
