Start with one of the various hand held scan tools that can reset the message, if you don't already have one.

It's typical to get the red warning after replacing a failing rear battery. Reset it and see what happens - Most likely it will not return.

Hey Tom, thank you for responding. I do have a hand held scanner but I`m not getting an option to erase that particular "battery code" red light.
And like I said, I did replace rear and front batteries and the voltage regulator , I have been reading other people that says my need to replace the BCM located in the truck compartment.
At this point I`m hopeless, don`t know what else to do😟😟
I see you have a 2005 SL500, did you ever had this problem??
Thanks again !! Daniel

Yes I had the same issue, as many have. When the rear battery dies it can throw the red code. Replacing the battery fixes the issue, but the code is stored in the memory. Quite likely all is working well down there though.

What's the scanner?

A basic OBDII will not suffice. You need tool with MB specific software such as the Launch Creader or the Foxwell which can clear the code, or you can probably bribe the local independent with a case of Bud to do it for you.

A dedicated scan tool on an R230 is pretty much essential basic equipment.

If you order it with the Benz software, then yes.

It's more modern than the Foxwell which is as slow as, man. Mike was testing the Launch and might comment. I haven't tested one but am thinking of investing.
