Hi,

I have a MERCEDES B180 CDI W245.207 from 2005, the battery is not charging while the car is turned on, it shows 11.7V. No errors on the dashboard.

Any ideas? Does this model have an auxiliary battery?

Hi,

That car was not used for over 1 year, I had to change the battery - brand new. For some reason was not charging.

I made it to charge the battery to 14.3V by accelerating it a few times while standing still. At one point it just started to charge the battery. Very strange. Before when it was not charging, the car by it self was increasing the acceleration a bit and then coming back every 2-3 seconds. After I accelerated it heavily a few times, it started to charge the battery and no more small accelerations by it self.

It works now ! :)

Good news...!..but do check your electrical connections for any corrosion. Keep a close eye on the voltage from startup to regular driving. Make sure that all push fuses are clean. I moved all of my fuses in the Audi and a few screens lit up in a better way. Too much sitting and humidity can affect contacts over time. The contacts on the alternator might have corroded up over time.
