My battery light comes on if the car is sitting 1 day or longer, (new battery), the battery voltage is 12.6 and running 14.2. This issue is driving me nuts, I put my scanner, checked for errors on the BCM, the only error states missing battery, to my knowledge no aux battery battery in the engine compartment, or near the cabin air filter. If I leave the headlight switch in auto overnight the light comes on and this is a very intermitting problem.

Both of my '05 E-320s had aux batteries and if I remember correctly they were on the (U.S.) passenger side at the firewall. Based on my experience, I don't recommend using a non-MB approved replacement.

Facelift came in US 2007, right? So you would have aux battery still... In europe it was miscontinued 9/2006 or something...

BTW, is this a recent problem? What work was done immediately before the problem began? Does this affect the starting of the engine or is this just an indicator issue (i.e. a false flag)?

You do have an aux battery and if it hasn’t been replaced in a long time(or ever) this is most likely the culprit.

Another thing also. You said you replaced the battery but didn’t specify what you replaced it with. I’ve seen “new” $79.99 specials from Auto Zone still cause problems in the 211.

If it hasn’t been done already it would be a good idea to replace the voltage regulator. Mostly as preventative maintenance but this could do some weird stuff too
