Anyone know if the postive battery cable in the 560sl is the same length as a 450slc?

560SL has its battery in the trunk. Doesn't the SLC have it in the engine bay?

Depends on model year. It changed from front to rear for ALL 107s around 74-75. The later SLC examples, with rear mounted battery would have a cable approximately fourteen inches longer than a comparable SL, 560 or otherwise....

Hadn't thought about the length of the SLC body before, but that certainly makes sense.
