I'm assuming that's a tv show yes?

You ever see the 600 in "Witches of Eastwick?" They run it into a guard rail and it makes me weep ...

There's actually two cars. a 280se 4.5 and a 280sel 4.5. Pretty sure they used the SEL for the first season then for some reason switched to an SE. The mint colour isn't original, and yeah there's a diesel soundtrack on the motor. Keeps things calm in comparison to the v8.

Could be worse... in 'The Hangover' they wreck a couple of these:

Really pissed me off too!

What happens to the classic Mercedes-Benz throughout the film is tragic, given that Mercedes-Benz isn’t building any more 220SE convertibles. A total of five were used in the filming of the movie, including three original convertibles and two coupes modified to resemble convertibles.

Plans originally called for the destruction of the two chopped coupes during the filming, since the cars lacked the structural reinforcement necessary to make them roadworthy. During the confusion involved with shooting the movie, a real convertible was inadvertently destroyed alongside a modified coupe.

If you were making a tv show or movie, and although the supply might not be as unlimited, would you rather use Honda Accords, or Mercedes w108s? And keep in mind that most Mercedes w108s are far cheaper than a honda accord?

Look at values of the convertibles after the hangover movie. Up up up! Bates motel is actually helping get the crap boxes off the road, and thinning the herd. It's a good thing for collectors.

Now if someone could start crashing 107s too.

Everyone should do their part and go part out a few crappy old Mercs. It increases the supply of parts for the ones we want to restore, and decreases the overall supply of vehicles, especially the crappy ones that pull down the values of all (for the specified model). Both good things if you want the values of these cars to go up. :D
