Hi Tuggy, Strange, If it has a immobiliser, it won't start full stop. but you seem to be able to run the engine?! there might be two separate problems here.

Does you van have an assyst computer in it? if it has then it would say 'start error' and refuse to even turn over.

Right, Just to clarify, In my opinion your van does NOT have a Immobiliser hence no transponder key.
The starting problem is a seperate issue and you will have to find what is causing this, do all the usual checks along the fuel lines and fuel rail, not forgetting the Fuel filter ect..

Have a look to see if you can see if there is any air in the fuel pipes, this is usually visible at the fuel filter connected pipes, also if your fuel filter has a 'water drain' ( this type of filter has a hole in the front of it with a small pipe to drain the water in the fuel ) in it then drain this too.

Hope this helps mate

Tuggy if it is an immobiliser, & you need a key, then why don't you just pop down to you local Mercdads and get a replacement key made up?

I mean we can't be messing about with the security of these vehicles now can we? You can cause damage to other areas of the electrical system by trying to bypass it etc.

Simple, you own the van, take the V5 to the Mercdads and they will sell you a key.
The main reason why anyone would want to bypass the security system would be if the van is stolen, not that I'm suggesting this is the case here.

Hope it helps mate:thumbsup:
