I have been trying to track down the source of a shudder that I have in the drive train. The shudder is only felt at the beginning of second gear under light acceleration. It shudders for a half of a second and then it's gone. I was worried it might have been the clutch pack problem, so I changed the fluid to see what it looked like and was still red after 50k miles. Reset trans adaptations to no avail. Could it be a worn drivshaft center support? It seems that would cause a constant wobble?

I've turned this over in my head six ways from Sunday and can't think of any scenario in which a worn center bearing, carrier sleeve or flex disc (not in your post) would cause this and only this.

My first thought would be to replace the mounts, which can do odd things, though usually at idle. But they're a known wear item and typically well before the items related to the propeller shaft.

Good luck.
