Looks beautiful !..and we never see those wheels over here. Congrats..and hope that it doesn't act up anytime soon.
Panoramic roof was never an option over here...Just the multi-paneled opening sunroof.(with costly problems for many here)
Sadly, I put up the photos because I took them to sell the car. My cousin gave me a 2017 Nissan Leaf for free - looks like new, and with petrol prices expected to be NZ$4/l (US$10 gal) when the Covid tax rebate ends on 1 April, the B170 became surplus to requirements. It's up for sale (see
For Sale, 2008 B170).
Thus, my last useful
W245 post was about fixing a broken seat latch. While vacuuming the B170 to make it presentable for sale the rear seat latch broke. I could find no useful links, so after dashing off to town where Pick-A-Part had a nice 2007 B170, I discovered remove and replace is actually very easy, so I posted my how-to for others. I had spent about an hour trying to work out how to unlatch the seat and before realising it would be faster and less painless to hop a ferry, drive to the wrecking yard and learn on a wreck that did not matter if I got something wrong. Good thing since once I took the old unit apart, I saw that repairing the broken plastic would have been difficult and eventually would have broken for the new buyer. The part cost less than the beer and sushi on the way home, waiting for the ferry. While I will be leaving the W245 forum, I won't be leaving benzworld.org. I still have a 1982 G-wagon (400,000 miles and going strong) and a 2012 SLK-200 where I do most of the work myself.
As for the panoramic roof, it's the only one I ever found. JDM model. Really makes the interior bright and it does not leak. I will miss it.
Here is what will be replacing the B170. Photos are of the actual car, done by the dealer. Looks new, but is a 2017 that seems to have been garaged all its life and owned by a very neat person without kids and who did not eat or drink in it.
And here is a similar angle of the 2008 B170 (making me appreciate the skill of a professional car photographer)
