I recieved my 2007 B200 in November .At approx. 600 km it stalled several times at speeds from 40kms to 10kms. Mercedes replaced my car with a new one in late December. The new one has now started to stall as well.
Anyone else with this problem?

Among the numerous problems I've had with my '07 Turbo - stalling was also one of them - although it only happend once with me, but a few times with the dealer when it was in for "other issues". It turned out to be the crank position sensor. Dealer told me that there were a number of cars affected (all classes A - S) and it was one supplier or something. I can't verify that of course, but about 7-8,000 km later no stalling issues. Once thing though - mine only stalled when at a stand still not while driving.

Hello,

The reason why I didn't purchase the Turbo model is because of the stalling problem. This is a well known problem that Mercedes insider informed me of. I have purchased another Mercedes from the same sales agent, he warned me ahead of time. Don't buy Turbo, they have alot of problems with their engine. You will also save money on gas, and repair if you buy a NON-Turbo.

B200 Turbo Problems!

Actually to me M.B. B200 Turbo is an unreliable car! I bought a 2007 model last year while it was on 14000 kms milage. I use it as my second car and very rarely! The steering is disaster! the turning circle is too much and to park my car or to get to car park in my work plase I have to do steering 10 times! I had also stalling experience once when I start to accelerate and drive but not faced with same problem again! one other problem I faced (at 19000 kms milage only) behind a red light when i start to move after gear one, second then suddenly car stopped!!! while gear box was ingage no movement :( and I forced to stop the car in the street and bcs it was holiday (5 am on the way to air port) no help from Mercedes emergency service!!! even when I send sms to their mobile and they called me at 11 am (when they woke up probably after a nice sleep!!!!) they said they can not help me and what they can do is only to send a car carrier to pick up mt car but due to holidays their authorised dealer (garage) refused to accept and I forced to spent more than USD 90 to get my car to my car park and at first working day to sent it to Garage!!! The interesting part is tt they said disk and clutch pad must change and they have no parts in Iran at all and I must wait 2 weeks they can order and get it fm Germany!!!! BTW it was very unexpectable a car at 19000 kms face such problem. Also very interesting to know a disk and clutch pad for B200 Turbo cost About USd 1,100.00 plus maintainence and labor I guess will be ttly about USD 1400~1500!!!!
Thanks god I have my old OPEL VECTRA 1995 which is still under 100K milage and work prefectly.
Any way I do not recomd anyone to buy B Class no matter which engin capacity or engine type!!!

Hi

So far have had no stalling or even hesitation problems even when the engine is cold. And very smooth idling.

As for turning radius, that is why a person takes a car for a test drive to see if it is compatible with his or her driving style. The clutch problem on a manual transmission is usually as we used to say "operator error"

One "Mercedes Insider" told me not to buy the normally aspirated engine as they had more problems. The lot also had very few non turbo models for sale at the time and the Salesman drove a turbo. 99% of all the engine components are the same as are the electronic components. (well maybe not 99% but close to it). The only thing that will really affect engine life between the different models is driver style. constant rapid acceleration or leaving the car in low gears to keep the rev's up, in both standard transmissions or auto in manual mode.

Have you had more stalling problems Jeff since the new crank sensor was installed?

That makes sense....not.....the same engine with a blower is more reliable than the NA version.....hmmmm, voodoo engineering ;)

Does this problem only affect cars with CVTs that was mentioned in a different thread?
