Hi,

I have a 2008 CLK550 with Nav, cd changer and IPOD Integration. I have been searching for 2 days to activate the 3.5mm jack that I found to the right of the glove box. I removed the command and for the life of me I can not figure out how to what to disconnected and what to connect to activate the 3.5mm jack. If someone has a picture that would be great!

Thanks

The factory iPod interface uses the AUX input. With it installed, the AUX input is disabled.

Are you sure it isn't working? If you are inputting audio through it, you need to turn up the volume on the device you are plugging into it. Obvious I know, and I don't wish to offend your intellect, but might be something you overlooked??!! Apologies if you've already checked this.

Thank you guys, I figured out I just needed to move the MOST Orange wires back over to the original radio connection. Once I found a picture of the IPOD integration kit conections, it was easy to figure out what to remove.

Actually, it's not the fiber optic wires - it's an analog connection on the back of the radio . The iPod kit uses a connector cable that goes between the dash wiring harness and the radio and intercepts the AUX input. To resort the functionality of your AUX interface, you'll have to remove that iPod kit wiring harness and plug the dash wiring harness directly into the radio. Because of the way he iPod kit taps into the fiber, you'll also have to move the fiber from the iPod harness back to the dash harness. Basically you'll be totally disconnecting the iPod interface.

If you are trying to get non-iPod audio to the radio, you might consider leaving the iPod kit installed and using an adapter that plugs into the 30-pin Apple connector, like this:

Or, something like this:

30-Pin to Audio Adapter Connects New Devices to Old Docks

Note that I have no experience with those items, they were just the first ones I found as examples.
