Does anyone know of a compatible AUX and/or Bluetooth device to connect at the cd radio input port for a 1999 E320 wagon. The sticky's have only 1996 - 1998 and 2000 - 2002. Is the 1999 "different" or just not listed here. Thanks for your help?

I believe the cut-off manufacturing date is 06/99. If your radio looks like a 1998 model, (no steering wheel radio buttons), then it goes into the 1996-98 category.

Thanks. VIN data reveal that is was manufactured in August, 1999. I don't drive this car much and don't know if there is radio control on the steering. I'll check this weekend and post. Thanks again.

...what they said. also, if you radio utilizes D2b fiber optic connectivity for the CD
then you will not be able to 'tap' into the CD inputs and may need to consider
alternate mods such as tapping into the circuit board (STICKY-ied 'AUX in/out')

i don't have a rear shot of the head unit but here is the twin-lead D2b termination
at the CD changer end. plugs.jpg

oh, I re-read your question: the STICKY shows 1996-98 because that is
how the thread originator titled it. ditto for 00-02. if your head unit uses
the fiber compliant design, you would reference the 00-02 AUX IN thread
for your project. BE SURE to review all model identification references
and compare to the head unit in your car to be sure it matches.
i have 1999 and my car is wired for D2b fiber.

shortly after 2002 I believe that MB transitioned to the MOST system, though
while still based on fiber, the protocols are different than D2b thus not backward
compatible

Thanks Raymond. That clears things up considerably. I'll let you know what I find.
