Hi everyone,

I’ve read through some of the post here and from what I’ve read the aux fans are controlled by either your temp sensor or AC pressure switch. I found the temp switch and if I unplug it the aux fans keep running and I get no reading in my cluster so got that one.

Now what about the AC pressure switch, my question is where it is exactly is this it?

Also am I correct in thinking that if I unplug it the aux fans will stop? Of course I won't run it that way, just trying to track down the issue.

Thanks

#3 is also a temperature switch that is activated when the temperature reaches 110C or so and turns the aux fans on HIGH speed. Are you sure that#1 and #2 are not two separate wires for the same switch? (my car only has one switch in that location) and it is the pressure switch and only turns the aux fans on LOW speed.

#1 and #2 are two separate wires. I unplugged both to test and the fan still runs on high. I’m just wondering if one of my sensors is sending a constant signal and I’m thinking the pressure switch. That red pressure switch appears to be one whole unit, meaning I can’t just pull on the red cap to disconnect; I’d need to unscrew from the AC hose.

Any experience taking off the pressure switch?

If you follow the wires from the pressure switch to the fan, there should be a splice in there. Disconnect both wires at the splice. The fans should turn off (unless someone has rewired this?). Do not pull the pressure switch. It will release all of your R-12 and fry your drier.

You can disconnect the wires from switch #3 (red) without removing the switch itself. If the fans stop, this means that switch is stuck closed.
