Hi all, I was recently looking through the W210 "Quick Start Guide" that they give you in the owner's manual folder and they mention having automatic headlights available. I've never seen this on any W210s, so does it actually exist? Sorry for sounding like a noob.

In short - yes. I had them on my 2001 update W210 E240 Elegance.
Current 1999 pre update W210 E240 classic does not have them.

I was once in your position.

By "automatic headlights" I assume your referring to the headlamp range levels...which controls and limits the ups and downs of the bulb depending on whether or not you're on an incline.

This is available on my 97E420 but the xenon lamps were an added option so perhaps their only available with xenon lighting.

.... or talking about a system that activates and deactivates the lights based upon day or night?

In European models (facelift) there is automatic headlights... dunno if US exports are different.

Ah I see. I think it's probably the Euro models that have it then. Funny that they'd put that in our US-spec quick start guides also.
