Auto tranny and rear end

I would like to know the procedure to check the auto transmision fluid level on a 190 2.6L. I am asking this because different cars have different steps.

Also when I drive and take my foot of the gas I hear a quiet "wooooooooom" sound from the rear end. Is that normal or does the rear end need attention?

Checking tranny level

You should check the level when the enigne is hot.

With the engine running and the tranny in Park, pull the dipstick out, and the level should be between the two marks.
