Hi ike[:)]
yes I have mine installed a few months back and I love it it, very quiet and the tread pattern is look fantastic[:D] I did post a picture B4. and for the price is way cheaper than Michilin, I like Michilin but the price is way beyond my budget[:(] I paid $500.plus on my tires compare to Michilin of $800.00.
Question, is your rim 7.5 or 8 inch if you want the agressive look you should have at list 8 inch. like mine Drew and Jude. Dewdalts tire and rims going to be for sale..I think[:(] read his post a few days ago.

Thanks Jim, I'm going to get a set today.

You're right, Michelin is $300.00 more and their Tempt rating is only "B" and a speed rating of "S".

BTW my daughter got accepted at Berkeley too.[:)] I'm a happy parent.

Go Bears!![:D][:D]

Wow, That was Great!, Yes Go Bear, so watch out you will be adding more miles on your ML to visit her. I added extra 8K miles on my ML during my daugther stay at Berkeley. But its not finish yet, she will be back at Oakland to attend Podiatric School at Samuel Merritt College. SO we might see on the road in August, IIRC their school start on August 20th.

Congratulations to you and your daugther.[:)][;)]

Got my Toyo Proxes

I called the store and he gave me the quote for P255/60R-17. When I arrived at the store they can't get that size so he gave me P275/55R-17 instead at the same price. I'm a happy camper. [:D][:D]

I'm on the 2nd set of Toyo Proxies on my '99 ML-430, very much like them and they hold up very well and wear flat. I only wish Toyo made their great on-off road tires that fit my Cummins Ram 4x4, or I would have them on it. My wife does not like the stiff sporty ride so had Dunlops on her ML for a softer, car like ride.

Toyos work out fine Proxes S/T. They are fine for daily use and you will save a lot of money compared to French and Italian tires.

Thanks Jim and Patrick,

My next question is:
How many sets of brake pads can you use before you replace the rotors?

Also, where is the best place (in terms of price)to get those parts? I don't know, but I'm leaning towards using the OEM brand unless you have good experience with other brands.

Trying to prepare the ML for my upcoming Berkeley trip.[;)]

Thanks,

mb recomends rotor change with 2nd set of pads. if you use oem pads, you should be fine till your third set, but if you use aftermarket pads, your rotors may go early. stick with oems because harder longer wearing pads dont grab too well. check out importec dot come or epsparts dot com.

I changed my front rotor on my third set of pad and I've used ATE and Mintex combination, and I'm very happy with the result, my rear rotor is still good but I might change that too when my rear pad need replacement.

Thanks Jim and 163

That's what I thought, replace rotors after the second set of pads.

Hey..l've had these tires for a year..l "love them".....and here's another reason...Look at the bottom of this article, and see the tires they used.....That's why l bought them...

Danish Kleemann and Jason Watt set new record
The danish tuning company Kleemann and the race driver Jason Watt set a new world record. On the high speed raceway Nardo in Italy, Jason Watt drove a Kleemann Mercedes ML55K at 282 km/h (176 mph). Kleemann is a specialist in Kompressor tuned Mercedes engines, and the company wrote history last year with "The world's fastest 4-door sedan" - an E55 AMG going 338 km/h (211 mph) on the Papenburg raceway in Germany. Now the Danes have given Porsche something to live up to, if they want to reclaim the title as "The world's fastest SUV". The 5.5 litre V8 produces 607 hp and 0-100 km/h is done in 4.9 seconds corresponding to 4.7 secs for the 0-60 mph. Nice performance for a 2.5 ton car! They used Toyo Proxes S/T tires in the dimension 295/40 R20 114 V (see road tire page Also: Info page from Toyo(pdf)). Kleemann uses a Lysholm screw type twin helical blower and an efficient Laminova intercooler.

Carlos, actually I'm really beginning to love them. It's quiet and ride is comfortable. Specs are comparable to Conti's but with a V rating as a bonus.
It's also cheaper.

Now I really feel good.[:)] There's a lot of good testimonials.
