Wednesday was an absolutely fabulous day up here in the great white north so I skipped out of work early and went for an extended drive to visit a guy named "Don Benz" who I found on the net and has a MB scrap yard. About an 200 mile drive round trip. Bought a few parts and off I went, driving on the warmest day, so far, of the year. Started getting sunburnt by about the 160 mile mark.
Most of the drive was through rural Ontario, through vast farmlands newly plowed and manure spread. Didn't count on that. However, that could not dampen my spirit. The last 25 miles was on a freeway which gave me the chance to open her up. Wow, I love passing everyone once in awhile.
Well everything must come to an end, so I went to exit the freeway and realized my left turn signal had been on since I entered the freeway. 25 miles. What a goof.

Your not alone
In a organized run with our SL branch of the Benz club. I drove about halfway through "The Black Spur" with about 12 other roadsters, with my indicator on. I've wondered if I should try to fit a brighter globe and louder flasher can.

I did it again tonight on my 50 mile jaunt to work.
About 20 miles of left hand flashing in the fast lane.
Very European, come to think of it.

No, you are the future of this forum. Good to have young blood. Maybe one of us will need a kidney.

I have a 20 year old daughter.....but she's not smart enough to own an old Benz.

She may be smarter than you think. I often wonder what I would spend my money on if not an old car.

Here's a new ride for the "old farts.

For many months now Mercedes has been teasing us with photos and details of its upcoming SLS supercar and now the German automaker has added a surprise twist. A while back it was made known that the SLS would come with a 6.2-liter V8 with 571 hp and 479 ft-lbs of torque. Now Volker Mornhinweg, the head of Mercedes' high-performance AMG division, says another powerplant will also be available – an electric one.

Called the SLS eDrive, this green version of the SLS will make use of lithium-ion battery packs, powering an electric motor that will make 392 kW (or 526hp) and 649 ft-lbs of torque. The SLS eDrive will offer serious performance with a 0-60 mph time of under four seconds and a top speed of 120 mph - all with zero emissions. Range is expected to be between 93 and 112 miles.
I copied this off another Benz site. FYI

Ah...since you brought it up....she spends her money on tattoos.
Maybe it's an investment....she can join a traveling carnival.....in two years at the rate she's collecting them.
And piercings.

That reminds me of my stepson that wanted to get his ear pierced several years ago. His mother and I both asked that he write and let us know his new address.

BTW, "Chantal" is a popular Quebec stripper name.....fitting, as your top should be off mostly...

I would love to of heard that little slice of life conversation.
I can't talk, I have spent a fortune on different shit that I no longer have. Mostly ex-wifes and Corvette's / Corvette insurance.

That was one of the middle names of the young lady I bought it from and I thought it was beautiful and fitting. Maybe she worked her way through Purdue in that profession but she just finished her Masters degree.

My dad (still alive at 95) has a couple of forearm tattoos from a drunken shore leave during WW II. Years ago when tats were becoming fashionable he made my kids promise never to be so stupid, and so far it's worked.....
The thing with tattoos, it's kind of hard to change your mind. I wonder about all those (now cute) young tattooed lower backs a few years from now when nature takes its unkind course.

In the 70's (in my former profession) if you had tattoos that showed on your arms you had to wear long sleeve uniform shirts year round.

My youngest sister (41) is often mistaken for a woman in her mid 20s. She has a butterfly tattoo on her lower back. I asked her what she's going to do when the butterfly's wings are hanging down around her knees, and she said she'd get a spider and spiderweb tattood over the butterfly.

When my daughter was asked to leave the house two years ago for not following house rules, she was tat free and pierce free.
I'm not really judging as I have a few of each, but moderation, for Christ's sake.

When you tattoo your fingers....you've gone to the dark side. No long sleeve shirt is going to cover THAT.
