i ordered the ATE replacement grommets from autohausaz however they do no sit flush with the bottom of the resevior(spelling). they are the correct size, just cant seemto get them down all the way like the old ones. i have tried everything so my question is, are they suppossed to sit flush and if so how the hell do you get the res. down while mounted on the master cylinder. thanks

they sit flush.. smear a liberal coating of brake fluid on the grommets inside & out, first to get them seated and second to help push the reservoir on..

As 'lurker' says, and you might use a blow drier to heat the rubber grommets, it will soften just enough that with a slippery lubricant like brake fluid, it ought to pop right in.
