Took delivery yesterday. What a blast! Just love the soundtrack...

The DVD plays on the screen (while the vehicle stands still) and its Bluetooth is enabled.

After seeing how great your car looks, it's now gonna be even harder for me to wait for my Amber Red/Black 200K! The ship docks in Sydney on 17 January, and I'm told I should have it within 5 to 10 days after that. How long did it take for your car to be delivered after the ship arrived?

Ear to ear indeed.

My car arrived on the 16th or 17th of Dec, but I was in Europe for the rest of Dec. Go figure.

The car was only ready for delivery after customs and who knows what else after the new year long weekend.

Good thing I was not here, I would have driven them to distraction.

Yours should hopefully be faster because you do not have holidays in the way.

Only a few weeks to go!

I managed to get the phone paired, but I have not managed to get the phone to work properly. Guess MB wants you to buy a hopelessly overpriced cradle.

The SLK's bluetooth also 'saw' another bluetooth thing in the vicinity - my other car's bluetooth phone system. I guess I will pair them so that the Beemer and the Merc can have some nice argmuents at night.

But it does put an end to the story that MB does not want BT in their vehicles because of some radiation nonsense.

Interesting.... I guess I might end up getting the Aussie COMAND instead so I can play with the bluetooth profiles and see what happens.

Thanks mate. I ordered the red, then thought I made a mistake, but absolutely loved straightaway when I saw it.

Is the r171 bluetooth capable?

It does have bluetooth available and will pair, however that's about as far as it gets. I am assuming that it is not configured as a "headset".

I do remember talking to MB about bluetooth and the problems they were having such as multiple bluetooth devices, call information and COMMAND trying to communicate with bluetooth devices not in your car. I don't know why these should be issues as BMW have it working successfully. Or is it that they simply put it in as a "BMW toy" and not fully tested or thought about the above scenarios.

Think ours must be the first few in Aus - dont think any have been delivered in Perth as yet.

I note in todays car section of newspaper - local agent has a 350 and 200 demo for immediate sale - so maybe they are catching up with supply.

The car was plated 12/04. I think this does not matter at all with special cars' resale - its about the model, condition, and of course kms.

It would be interesting to know what they want for those demos. Bet you it is very close to full price.

My dealer tells me their waiting list for 350s is now 8 months.
