Now, according to a German Auto Shop, my ASR light (undesirable "limp mode")is due to a plug in module attached to the brake booster. $300.00 for diagnosis and repair, so am I stuck with it or should the place that did the brakes "hear" from me? I should add that, at first, the BSR/ASR combo lit up, then went away, THEN the ASR ! came on...

My 92 just started SLR lite and limp mode too. Front brake job too. I shut down and restart to clear it. But also my son was driving with the tire chain switch lite on. My mechanic says live with it.

Easy for him to say live with it, I wouldn't be able to. You need to get the codes read off pin 14 with a cheap l.e.d. reader, this should help guide you in the direction of a possible fix. Also get another mechanic, it amazes me that some of these so called professionals overlook that the car is 20+ years old and as such suffers from bad connections and corrosion and jump straight in with an expensive module type fix. It may turn out expensive but often may not.
