Hi everyone. I don't usually visit the forum here for the family's 98 C Class but I am thinking there might be a simple answer or maybe an expensive answer. She left the key on, apparently, and the battery went dead or to low to start the car. She had someone jump it and it is running fine and the battery seems to have survived. She told me that the hooked it up correctly the first time and everything else seems fine, but, the ASR BAS light is now on. Is there a way to reset it or did the guy who jumped it for her kill something? They just spent a lotto money having all the engine mounts, ball joints and tie rods done. I certainly can disconnect the battery to do a reset if that would do it or maybe is there a fuse to pull that would reset it? Thank you as always

Not sure if unhooking the battery would reset it, but it won't hurt anything to try. Let it set for about ten minutes if you do that before you hook the cable back up. If that doesn't do it, you may have to take it somewhere and have it cleared. Any shop with a newer scan tool should be able to do that.

I would try "Re-Training" the Steering Angle Sensor.

While driving slowly, turn the steering wheel from "Stop-to-Stop" a couple of times to Re-Set the Sensor.
