I thought this would be kind of a fun thread. Neat old trucks, some mogs...but should have an artistic edge...

No kidding. Small world. I heard of those guys and called them up for a quote on a set of 20" beadlocks made from their own shells and centers and they originally quoted me quite low, but when I went to follow through a few weeks later their quote nearly doubled. They apologized and seemed like a good bunch of guys and it was evident that they were quite avid wheelers.

Thanks Chas! (I was wondering if anybody besides the Hummer haters would come out of the wood work :D).

No problems with the tie-rods, the whole front end has been reworked with heavy duty tie rods, pitman and idler arm supports and after market upper UCA's (also 4.56 gears and front locker).
If GM had made them that way from the factory or had resisted the temptation to market them like they WERE made that way, there probably wouldn't BE so many 'haters' ;) (I can point fingers at a certain British marque once owned by a certain US automaker, or any one of a handful of Japanese companies as others who once marketed like that - so I'm not picking on GM)

Even you, as an owner, have to admit Hummer hate is 90% the fault of that certain type of owner who waves it around like a giant phallus or clogs the trails trying to 'wheel' their worthless stock trucks. I had a whole pack of 'em - shiny paint and everything, not a worthy aftermarket mod among them - damn near run me right off a mountain pass road once. It was like I didn't even exist...

Now, there was this time that a certain hotshot H1 owner tried to follow my 416 through a gnarly series of mudholes... Talk about instant attitude correction.

Hi Robb, so is this truck in Saskatchewan? Those are 1600 20s hey. They don't look that big. More like 1400 or something but I guess it must be because there isn't much body to judge it by. Looks good.

Could you tell us a little bit more about this truck. Working/crawler gears? Modified engine? Turbo? Horsepower? Axle/hub ratios? PTO Hydraulics? How does it perform? I don't see a winch. Estimated weight?

Cool rig:thumbsup:

Hi , this mog started as u U1200T . That being said , it has factory 352 turbo , 8 speed with torque converter ( multiplier ) . Stock gearing no hydraulics , new air system with separate activators for the air lockers . And weighs in at a little over 12000 pounds . Has a factory pinion conversion and is 4 linked in the rear . Works great . cheers Robb

What does the factory pinion conversion consist of? Like for UGNs? What wheelbase did you end up with? Does it do as well as your FJ40 buggy? Is the torque converter an asset off road?
So here is my Artsy contribution... Calico, & NWMF

I've given up on dreaming. :surrender:
My inspirations for the new paint job on the 404. Might require a suspension upgrade.

Hey George, hang in there. Dreams don't cost a thing and keep us going!

As the old bumper sticker says, "work diligently with integrity and you'll still get screwed".
