I removed a pair of Headlight wiper motors from JY to-day off of a 500SEL. THe wiper arms had already gone.

I have the Midnight Blue valences (of course they will need painting)

The headlights were Euro headlights (someone had already removed the glass lenses) and the reflectors were not all that good; I just removed the 6 pin adopters.

The bumpers were Euro bumpers with the front bumper having the washer fluid dispenser holes. The front bumper was damaged; the rear bumper was in good shape.

Here are the part numbers of the wiper motors.

Can anyone confirm if they are Euro wiper motors?

TIA.

Left:
126 820 03 42 (Made in Germany)

Right:
126 820 52 42 (Made in Belgium)

May be I will post some pics later.

I forgot to note down the VIN#

This MADE IN BELGIUM part I have too in my car (I did not know if is the same code) but I remeber it because I was surprized that is not made in Germany!

For that reason I asume that the Belgium part is EURO!

Here is how you tell: Find out which side is which and orient them as they would be on the car, right to right, left to left and tops on top.

Now, one of the plugs has a couple extra leads, make sure that's on the pass side. It's the interlock. The motors are "Sided" so that they only go in their correct sides.

Now, holding it in the exact position they would be on the car, the Euros will wipe outwards on both sides. On US they will wipe inwards. But on Euros they wipe outwards. So looking at it from the front the Right side starts its cycle in a CCW. SO it goes CCW first then CW to neutral.

On the Left side it is just the opposite. The stroke starts CW and retreats in CCW. Use your finger to imitate the stroke.

That's it. Yes, Bosch has a plant in Belgium. The Czech ones are the ones to watch out for.

Hope that helps.

If the motors are not working, I can and have done rebuilds on them. The grease they use to seal then gets very hard after 20+ years in there and it clogs them stopped. The motors are almost always good. They also have to be re-timed so that the stroke start and stop points are in the correct position.

I have a spare set of Euro Motors Mike, but I have to rehab them. And I have to find them, they're around here somewhere. But, I may be persuaded to part with them.

NO arms though and they are almost $500.00 from MB.

Mike,

If you can dig them up that would be great. I won't be able to do anything for a few weeks because I am purchasing something from Henric. So after that.
