Yesterday, at a junk yard I found an 190E with four of these AMG rims sitting under the car. The finish on them needs to be redone and one of the rims had a mild case of sidewalk rash but all four tires seem to be holding air. Not knowing very much about rims, let me know if it's worth picking up this set. My rims have an ET of 48mm and these are 35mm so I'm not sure if I'm going to like them sticking out 13mm outboard. Do any of you want this set? If so, let me know and I'll pick them up and separate the tire from the rims at the yard.

Attached are some poor quality camera phone pics.

Here's the writing on the rim: 7JR15H2E35 AMG Germany

You definitely want to save those. They are original AMG Aeros from the 80s, sometimes people call them "Hammers" by mistake. The 35 offset makes them suitable for W124s and W201s, though probably not your ET 48 car. But you can definitely make a couple hundred bucks selling those no problemo.

Make sure they are not replicas. All MB wheels I have seen have the numbers molded on the inner side.
MB never sold chromed wheels.
These are AMG made wheels, before MB owned them

ok, I'll pick them up if someone wants them; not worth breaking my back on separating the tires from the rims for my own amusement.

Thanks for the education.

Sell them as is.

You really don't want to sandblast them. They need to be trued first.
I have no need for them, but if they are the real deal, put them up for sale locally and ask for 600. You will sell them for 400 if the right person shows up.

ok, I'll pick them up this week and put them up for sale. I can sand blast them and get them ready for paint/powdercoat if someone wants me to provide that service. What should I be asking for them?

Thanks for the education.
Yeah I'd pass on the sand blast, $200 - $500 depending on how long you want to wait

These are great looking wheels- popular amongst those who like to preserve original look yet a bit more aggressive. My favorite 15" wheels, right there.

They are pre merger AMG wheels and yes chrome was popular in the eighties..in fact many of the Westmont built Hammers had chrome wheels...

If AMG cars flowed through MB showrooms, then, MB sold chromies, homey!
