Mind you, I have not bought the car yet, but I definitely want a 560SL. Have been lurking around on ebay, autotrader, and craigslist. Someone not far from me has a set of wheels and tires from a 380SEL. They are the 14" bundt cake wheels, which I think look awesome on the R107. I am not as crazy for the stock wheels that come on the 560SL. I call them dinner platters.
Will these 14" bundt cake wheels be a direct swap for the stock wheels on the 560SL? Thanks.

No, they will NOT fit. The brakes are too large.
Dang. I see that the 560SL has stock 15" rims. Are there any aftermarkets in the bundt cake style that would fit the 560SL? I did a search and found that the Fuchs are very expensive. I am just looking for new rims that mimic that style. Thanks

There are wheels that fit it, yes. You do not want a 14" tire on that car. For one thing, you cannot get a good car tire in that size anymore. The cars came with VR rated tires, no V rated tires exist in that size. They look best and feel best with a wider, larger tire--16" being the maximum, IMHO. and an offset of 11. That widens the wheel base and gives it more stability while cornering, etc.

You can always use high end spacers as well.

I do not like the look of the stock 560SL wheels. Would want to switch to either the Bundt design which seem to be very expensive. Is it possible to buy 15" steel wheels that would fit and then get 15" hubcaps like the ones that you would see on the old 280SL's that have the center area painted the color of the car? Are those available in a size to fit the 560SL as an aftermarket item? Thanks

The bundts are a dime a dozen in 14". The 15" are expensive but will not clear the brake calipers on a 560SL. Never heard of a stock MB steel wheel that will fit either.

The stock 560 wheels don't excite me either but the choices in after market wheels are fugly.

I think the AMG AeroI wheels 16x8 look good but trying to find them to fit a 560 is another story.

Thanks Rowdie. Good to know. When I buy my 560, I'll make my peace with the wheels. Hopefully next month I'll be making a trip to FL.

If you like bundts, perhaps you should consider lookin at the polished aluminum clk wheels which are 16". They are not period correct for the car/body style, but a nice retro design in my opinion, and the most desirable finish (in my opinion), polished aluminum. They should probably get 20mm spacers, but that is a good fit and spacers that should not be a problem to do hubcentric... And only about $40 a pair, readily available.

P.S. other wheels known to fit the 560sl front:
- bbs rs133 8x16 et21
- lorinser LO 8x16 et22
- Amg aero1 8x17 et11 (try to get the period correct "AMG", not "///AMG")
- Amg gen2 8x16 et11 Penta-style "road wheels"
- 560sl 15-hole stock 7x15 et25 (obviously)
