Only that if he doesn't know what he's doing, he'll end up owing you a lot of money. DAS modules, new keys and ECUs get expensive in a hurry.

There is LOTS that is special about your car. If you don't trust him, don't let him work on it. Basic rule: never take your car to a mechanic that you have to teach.

I tend to agree W/ "gregs210" comment. The W210 was not intended to have a remote start. you may want to leave well enough alone.

my 2 cents

That said, some have succeeded, and it sounds as though he has, too.

Mbenz, what would it cost a regular joe to have that kit installed (including the kit of course)? Others might like to know. Congrats!

I am afraid that I do no agree with you that MB's are "not easy to work on". For those that do I suspect, like all vehicles, they don't understand all of the components in a certain system and how they all work together. Who would be able to work on any vehicle without prior knowledge of the specific system.

You would be amazed at what devices are notified when you press the transmitter key and actuate the central locking system.

It will be interesting to learn how or why he would want to disable the central locking system to start the car----so you are able to start the car remotely----how do you propose getting in the vehicle if it is locked, when the vehicle was designed to remotely unlock when you asked it to via the transmitter???

Regarding bulbs, they are all listed in the owners manual. I sure hope it works out fr you!!

Speaking of being smart!!! Can someone tell me if I should replace my engine mounts with mercedes benz mounts or is it a good aftermarket engine mount to use?
Yup... Sure fits well in a topic where remote alarm and its installation is discussed.

By the way, the doors have to open since it disarms the car and hence the car is allowed to start? Unless u disabled factory alarm and went with after-market..
