Alot of people dont use catalytic converters.
I know at least 12 people without them on their cars.
So anyone on here running no cats?

If so how did you get no CEL and how is the performance?
But most importantly THE SOUND

here in AUS its a big fine from the EPA if you get caught around $10,000AUD.

if your concerned with flow / performance get one single hi-flow cat... removing it altogether wont sound good. those cats themselves also act to remove some resonate frequencies.

since the car is auto it will drone so much b/w 2000-3000rpm... the exhaust pipe from the exhaust manifold aint that long due to the short wheelbase of the SLK.. it will sound too "barky" and "annoyingly" loud.

oh and 100% you will get a CEL if your SLK has 2 sensors (1 before cats and 1 after - i think the US spec slks have this). the aussie ver has only 1 sensor before the cats

Thank god its not an automatic.
I hate automatics.
My stick now sounds good but i want it like ear bleeding loud.
And my cats are starting to mess up.
So i was thinking gut them and some how run a O2 sensor simulator or a spacer.
OJWerks probably knows how.
